Information for Families

Dates

The 2026 Provincial Heritage Fair will be held on Friday June 12th at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax.

The event will take place in the McNally Theatre Auditorium located off Robie Street.

Registration

Student delegates are selected by their schools or regional centres of education. Once students have been selected, their teachers, principals, or board reps will distribute the registration forms provided by the Provincial Heritage Fair coordinator. 

If your child has been selected to attend the Provincial Heritage Fair but you have not received a registration form, please contact heritagefair@smu.ca

 Food

Lunch, snacks, and a water station will be provided for all student delegates. Student delegates and up to two parents/caregivers are invited to an banquet from 6:15-7:30.

Accommodation

Students from outside HRM (along with one parent/caregiver) will be provided accommodation in SMU residence free of charge. 

Supervision

While at SMU, students are in the care of the Provincial Heritage Fair team. We ask that parents/caregivers drop students off and pick them up at the registration area. We also ask that students remain at the fair for the duration of the program.

If a student delegate requires supports (transportation, chaperone, mobility or learning accommodations, or other forms of support) please contact heritagefair@smu.ca
